Producer Vashu Bhagnani who last produced Welcome To New York in 2018 is now in talks with writer Rumi Jaffery for a project. The details of the film are yet to be known and the two haven’t finalized on the star-cast as yet.
Rumi was spotted at Vashu’s office some days back. They have had a couple of meetings and are contemplating on the story-line and the casting.
The duo has collaborated on several films namely Coolie No (1995) that starred Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Hero No 1 (1997) that also starred the popular jodi of the 1990s, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) that had an ensemble cast, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai (2001) feauting Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor, Om Jai Jagadish (2002) again a multi-starrer and their last together was Vaada in 2005 that starred Arjun Rampal, Ameesha Patel and Zayed Khan.
Amongst these films, Coolie No 1 and Hero No 1 became successful while the rest of them just did average business or failed to impress the audience.
Now, the duo is teaming up for the remake of Coolie No 1 which is again directed by David Dhawan. Vashu is the producer of the film whereas Rumi Jaffery has done the screenplay. The movie stars Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan in main roles.
Now, as the duo is all set to collaborate on another untitled project, let’ see if they manage to recreate the magic of Coolie No 1 and Hero No 1.
